Jan Vytiska: The Ritual of Cursed Hearts

The book The Ritual of Cursed Hearts presents the latest work of the painter Jan Vytiska presented at the exhibition of the same name in DOX. Thematically, author's work is still based on a distinctive mix of Wallachian folklore and pop culture references. However, landscapes appear more and more in recent paintings, mountain massifs or blooming meadows contrast with the scene for which they create a frame. Vytiska continues to mix all sorts of references with his own romantic gestures. This is also underlined by the book's arrangement, which is bound in artificial black leather.

The bilingual Czech-English publication includes essays by curator and editor Otto M. Urban and French theoretician Anna Remuzon, who place Vytiska's work in a historical and theoretical framework.

The catalog also includes a signed and numbered author's print.
