The second volume of Letohrádky, libosadů and excursion places is dedicated to the places behind the Prague walls on the right bank of the Vltava through drawings, paintings and graphic sheets mainly from the 19th century. The people of Prague went here for fun, relaxation and trips either along the river or through the Poříčská, Nova, Koňská or Žitná gates.
Many of the gardens, orchards and summer houses, mostly extinct, have remained in the city's memory to this day as local names or street names of Vinohrad, Žižkova, Nuslí, Vršovice, Karlína and Libně. Kanálka, Wimmerovy and Krennovy sady were popular, in the inn of the converted summerhouse Sakrabonka, Sklenářka, Bezovka or Kravín, a seasonal event used to be Fidlovačka in the still undeveloped Nuselský údolí, on the Vltava islands, tourists enjoyed romantic natural corners, at Vyšehrad, at Chodovská fortress or at Kunratické the castle again with touches of the ancient past.
The book, reproducing well-known and as yet unpublished works of art, can be not only a report on the lifestyle of our ancestors, but also an incentive to walk through the locations shown and the changes of the last two centuries.
