Orhan Pamuk: New Life (CS)

In the novel New Life, the student Osman falls under the spell of a mysterious book and at the same time the beautiful girl Canan, in whose hands he first saw the book. When Canan suddenly disappears, Osman sets out to find her while uncovering the mysteries of the world described in the book. He leaves all his previous certainties and undertakes a long journey to escape modern civilization and rediscover a traditional way of life. In the book, we find the theme of the clash of modernity and tradition, East and West, but we can also understand it as an exciting road-movie with a criminal plot, as a mystical journey to know God or the meaning of life.
