Under Bal 1998–2008

The publication summarizes 10 years of work of probably the most provocative and medialized Czech art group.

For the first time, Pode Bal significantly stirred up the level of the year 2000 with the exhibition Malík urvi. At that time, the group exhibited 36 portraits of top politicians and socially active persons who held important positions and at the same time discredited themselves during the totality of cooperation with the StB or positions in the Communist Party. Pode Bal established so-called political art in the Czech Republic.

In this publication, Pode Bal, together with several other Czechs, was included among the most important visual artists active after the Second World War in the Eastern European region.
