How to explain the history of Czech and Slovak photography and its current form in a comprehensible way? The guide to the troubled territory III follows on from the successful previous works, dedicated to modern Czech fine art and architecture. This time, the creators are focusing on the field of photography, on the fates of their authors and the stories that accompany them. Their intention is to once again create a publication mapping the development of photography in our territory from the first half of the 19th century to the present in an understandable and attractive form.

The core of the book is a selection of more than six dozen of the most important authors, presenting their work and lives. František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Josef Sudek, Jan Lukas, Dagmar Hochová, Josef Koudelka, Jan Saudek, Jindřich Štreit, Libuše Jarcovjáková, Karel Cudlín, Antonín Kratochvíl, Tono Stano, Ivan Pinkava, Miroslav Tichý and others. The text is supplemented by comic-styled stories depicting crucial moments in the development of our photography.
