Orhan Pamuk: Red-haired Woman (CS)

The novel is the story of Cem, a well apprentice who finds in his master the paternal authority he lacked in his life. A mysterious red-haired woman enters the Oedipal relationship between the two, with whom Cem falls head over heels in love. Pamuk works with the father-son relationship in several plot lines, in addition to the classic ancient story, he goes to an ancient Persian legend for inspiration and sets the plot against the backdrop of Turkey from the eighties of the last century to the present day.

In the tenth novel of the Turkish Nobel laureate, the previously presented antagonisms of East and West, past and future, tradition and modernity appear.
